Wendy Gilmartin Architecture offers development and consulting services for new builds, landscapes and renovations in the high and low desert areas and surrounding San Bernardino and Riverside County areas including Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley, Landers, 29 Palms, Flamingo Heights, Pioneer Town, Rimrock, Morongo Valley, Wonder Valley, Desert Hot Springs, Palm Springs, Palm Desert and Indio/Coachella.

We aim to help property owners and design teams achieve their dreams of desert living — if you are developing a totally “raw” parcel of land, renovating a structure for rental income, or building a new home — we are here to help. We offer solutions in meeting all the requirements for your project goals, which can often become daunting in a new, and unfamiliar neighborhood or town. We are lucky to be locals in this magical part of the world, where our thriving creative community is growing amidst a stunning, surrounding natural beauty.   • Permaculture and water-wise landscaping and farming implementation in desert sites

  • Cabin, trailer and container restoration and renovation including structural and plumbing improvements for habitation per County requirements

  • Guest house and ADU additions

  • Legal processes to split or tie property parcels

  • Improvements to “raw land” including water service, power service, septic systems installation and permitting

  • Off grid technologies, including regulation/code requirements related to these systems and local installers to do the work

We can offer a feasibility study of your property, whether you are currently a property owner, in the escrow process or looking to buy. We will assess the extent of the improvements required on your site, assess the extent to which these improvements require permits and upgrades based on current and local building, zoning and energy codes, and give cost estimates of such improvements. As part of this service, you’ll also receive a pre-plan check with the County Building and Safety office (which provides building permits) and the County Panning office (which provides zoning approvals).

Feasibility studies are a flat fee.

All other additional consulting services are at an hourly rate.
